SEEDS is a 5 week series of yoga classes specifically designed for those affected by sexual and gender based violence. This yoga class is grounded in trauma informed yoga practices that seek to empower the participants using different yoga forms. The class focuses on three main themes power, choice and connection. No yoga experience required. This series of classes is open all who identify as survivors of sexual violence, regardless of gender identity.

Pre-registration in the whole series is required.
Supporter rate $125
Sustainer rate $100
Community rate $75
Please pay what you can. The community rate is reduced to support those who have limited financial means or precarious employment. The Sustainer rate covers the studio and instructor costs. The Supporter rate covers costs and supports the participation of students who can't afford to pay more.
About Yamikani Msosa
Yamikani Msosa is a grassroots feminist educator and yoga practitioner that has organized within the anti-sexual violence & social justice movement(s) for over a decade. Born in Lilongwe, Malawi and raised in Ottawa, Ontario-- they are a settler in Canada by way of colonization and forced migration.
Yamikani started teaching in May 2017 in Ottawa after finding that most yoga spaces did not reflect the communities that she was apart of. They needed to find home and community, so started to teach Bodyfull Yoga for folks in larger bodies and collaborated with Kind Space of offer Yoga for Queer and Trans folks. Since moving to Toronto they have offered trauma-informed yoga class for survivors of sexual violence called SEEDS. She has brought provided classes for rape crisis centres and universities across the province
Yamikani completed her 200 Hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training at Pranashanti Yoga Centre in Ottawa. She completed her Yoga for All certification with Dianne Bondy and Amber Karnes, which focused on making yoga accessible for larger bodied and differently abled folks. Yamikani is also a certified Trauma Informed Yoga Teacher.
She is also a member of Brown Girls Yoga Collective.
